Business Television Video Systems (BTV) started in a small office in 1986 with one customer, one opportunity and Lynn Matson's instinct to say yes. Nearly four decades later, that entrepreneurial spirit has grown into Pro-motion Technology Group, a national technology partner to some of the world’s leading brands.

Source: Crain’s 40 Under 40↗Lynn sold the first commercial Bose FreeSpace system to JCPenney, bringing background music into the Boys Department. With audio now part of the mix, BTV took off. Becoming a leader in retail and restaurant AV while installing tube TVs and CD-powered background music systems nationwide.
The company’s relationship with TGI Fridays begins, extending its footprint into hospitality and restaurant environments.
BTV was becoming a national rollout leader and one of the country’s largest dealers for Panasonic, JVC and Bose. Along the way, the company earned major accounts including Target, Rite Aid, Sports Authority, Blockbuster and Bally Total Fitness.
Lynn was named to Crain’s 40 Under 40 and recognized as Entrepreneur of the Year, marking an early milestone in her career. The honors reflected the vision, leadership and momentum already driving the business forward.

Lynn was fired from the company she had founded. For most people, that might have been the end of the story. For Lynn, it wasn’t even close.
Lynn regained control of the business, renamed it Pro-Motion Technology Group and rebuilt from the ground up as loyal customers and vendor partners followed. As tube TVs gave way to thinner, larger LCD displays, PTG evolved with the technology and the changing brand experience.

PTG’s relationship with Mercedes-Benz begins, opening a new chapter in dealership and automotive experience technology.
PTG’s Sodexo relationship expanded the business into large-scale digital signage and managed technology. Reaching 2,000 supported players proved PTG could scale into entirely new industries.
PTG was recognized as one of the Best and Brightest Companies to Work For in the Nation and named among SCN’s Top 50 Systems Integrators. Through decades of growth, one thing never changed: the people remained at the heart of the business.
In 2026, PTG launched Digital IQ, revolutionizing the industry by connecting technology, intelligence and business outcomes for the first time.
PTG’s Innovation Lab is where ideas become real-world solutions. Located at our headquarters, the lab gives customers, partners and our team a hands-on environment to explore emerging technologies, test new concepts and see how audio, video, digital signage and intelligent technology can work together before deployment. Lynn founded Business Television Video (BTV) in 1986, becoming a trailblazer in the AV industry and growing the company into a national integrator serving some of the largest brands. After selling the company in 2000, she bought it back in 2002 and relaunched it as Pro-Motion Technology Group (PTG), which continued to evolve alongside the industry.
A two-time Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Crain’s 40 Under 40 Winner and former Miss Michigan, Lynn has always had a passion for entrepreneurship, real estate and most importantly, people. She loves traveling the world, spending time with her family, connecting with others and dreaming up the next big idea.
